What happens if my customers phone you to make payment? If your customers phone us to make a payment we will redirect them to you. We do not charge for this service.
What is the next step if the letters are not successful? We are here to help you. You can send us the debt for collection action. Our partner company is Active Debt Recovery Pty Ltd, a registered mercantile agency. What banking details are shown on the letters? We use your banking details on all correspondence to your customers. So all monies are paid too you direct.
Can I recoup any collection costs from my customer? If you have the correct terms and conditions in place, and your customers are made aware of any fees, you can claim them when using the Mercantile Demand letters.
When can I use them? You can start using them straight away. They can be used within 12 months of your contract start date. After 12 month, any unused letters will expire.
Why we send the letters for you? We find that by having the letters, emails and SMS come from our address and not yours it creates more impact.
The methods we use to send? The demand letters are sent in up to three formats for the price of one letter as long as you can provide the contact details. They are sent by Post, Email and SMS.
Why we need an Authority to Act on your behalf? To enable us to have the Authority to Act on your behalf and sent Mercantile Demand letters for you, we require you to complete, sign and return our ‘Authority to Act’ document for compliance purposes. This document is a requirement under the Debt Collectors (Field Agents and Collection Agents) Act 2014.
